The new Golf GTE

Double the driving pleasure. The Golf GTE.

Driving pleasure as standard: the maximum output of the Golf GTE* is 245 PS.

This impressive value is achieved thanks to the model’s efficient plug-in hybrid technology.

Offering you a sporty, elegant appearance.

Agility and aerodynamics – the Golf GTE has not just internalised these values, it also wears them on its sleeve. As a GTE, it doesn’t have to hide its tailpipes away, though behind the chrome-plated diffuser is still a good position. That’s because, when it’s combined with the striking LED tail light clusters and roof spoiler, it makes sure the entire rear has an extra bold impact.

He finds you well. And you will find it easier.

When fitted with exterior background lighting, your new Golf GTE will welcome you before you’ve even climbed aboard: Operate your remote control key or start to approach the vehicle and the headlights and tail lights will light up. The door handle recesses and blue strip in the radiator grille will also light up and your new Golf GTE will welcome you with light projected out of the exterior mirrors onto the floor.

The highlight in your Golf GTE: IQ.LIGHT

The Golf GTE is fitted with IQ.LIGHTs as standard including powerful LED matrix headlights fitted with “Dynamic Light Assist” main-beam control light up the road and that stretch all the way round to the side wings, while sleek LED tail light clusters dominate at the rear. The package also includes innovative dynamic turn signals that use an animated strip of lights to show which way you are turning.

Real highlights in bad weather

Fog, heavy snowfall or rain? The LED front fog lights that come as standard in the new 5-honeycomb design and are built into the bumper, provide additional light. Turn them on quickly and the world will look pretty different, and your Golf GTE will look even more striking.

Outside: Fast-paced. Inside: Chilled out.

All of the components inside the GTE are carefully tailored to one another to give the vehicle its distinctively sporty look. This starts with the stainless steel pedals and extends to the decorative trims and hallmark stitching all the way to the black headliner. The LED background lighting adds accents of light in all the right places, you’ll also notice straight away that the digital future has arrived in the cockpit. These features are dominated by high-resolution displays and the majority of functions, like the radio, air conditioning system and lighting, can be operated using touch-sensitive surfaces and sliders. Let’s touch.

Everything adapts to you

When combined with the optional “Discover Pro” radio navigation system, the Digital Cockpit Pro can be upgraded to the Innovision Cockpit. This means that both displays, measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) and 10.25 inches (26.04 cm), can be merged together. The resulting display landscape not only contains classic content like the rev counter, speedometer and mileage counter, but also other useful data in an even clearer and more detailed display. You can even set up favourite functions on the home screen, just like the way you would configure your smartphone.

Sit back and relax

The GTE look is visible in every corner of the interior. While the premium sport seats in the front are covered in durable fabric in “Jacara” design, the hallmark blue accents of the GTE design are not only visible on the leather steering wheel but also on the textile floor mats that come in a complementary colour scheme. Fancy an extra dose of elegance? The optional high-quality “Vienna” leather equipment is smooth, creating a chic, premium feel.

Technology that enables you to look ahead

Being able to check all the most important information while also keeping an eye on the road: this is the main advantage of the optional head-up display in your Golf. Part of the windscreen becomes a projection area that can display your speed, messages from your driver assist systems or navigation instructions. The projection itself is still clearly legible, even when light is shining directly onto the windscreen. And you can switch off the display at any time if you no longer need it.
