As its name might suggest, the Master is the largest in Renault’s commercial vehicle range. Available in Panel Van, Crew Van, Conversions and Passenger variants, the Master features a cleverly assembled cab and offers lots of cargo space. The vehicle can be chosen from a range of heights and lengths and is available in Business and Business+ trim levels.
The handsome-looking Master features a left side-loading door and rear 180o-opening doors, each providing flexible loading options. Other useful features include power-adjustable and heated side-view mirrors that are extra-large, helping to eliminate potential blind spots. All versions of the vehicle can be selected in one of seven paint finishes, which are each available as standard, including Atlantic Blue, Carmen Red, Lemon Yellow and Glacier White.
Most models come with a three-person front bench. The driver benefits from a height-adjustable and lumbar-supporting seat and a telescopic steering wheel, enabling him or her to find a comfortable position. Other standard features include power-operated front windows and a full steel bulkhead, which provides a safe barrier between the Master’s cab and cargo bay. Load volume and payload ranges from 8,000 litres to 1,490 litres and 907kg to 2,158kg respectively, depending on the vehicle variant selected.
The Master comes with a wide number of 2.3-litre diesel engines options, each mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and producing Euro 6 emission levels. Power outputs range from 110bhp to 170bhp. A 110bhp unit is installed as standard, while the most fuel-efficient option, a 145bhp engine, returns up to 40.4mpg (front-wheel drive models).
Technology, safety and security
An AM/FM radio, a CD player and a DAB digital tuner are included for your listening pleasure. Also featured as standard is USB connectivity, enabling you to charge and play your compatible media devices.
A number of driver aids are featured, such as Trailer Swing Assist, which helps maintain the stability of an attached trailer by correcting swaying and swinging where necessary. Other driver-support features include Extended Grip, which provides greater traction when travelling on slippery or loose surfaces.
Each occupant is kept safely in place thanks to three-point seatbelts, each of which is fitted with pre-tensioners and height-adjustable load-limiters. The vehicle’s security is maintained with the inclusion of an alarm, an electronic engine immobiliser and remote central locking.
