The Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV that simply oozes sophistication. What’s more, under the bonnet and in the cabin you’ll find cutting-edge technology. It’s sure to make a statement wherever you go. S Connect, SE Nav, Premium and Premium SE trims are available. Prices for the Tucson start from £22,045.
With its mixture of rugged and elegant design, the all-new Hyundai Tucson is practically impossible to ignore. The striking creases in the bodywork, the rakish roofline and range of gleaming alloy wheels signal the SUV’s energetic performance – even when it’s at a standstill. The signature hexagonal front grille bolsters this model’s presence, as do imposing headlights and sharp LED daytime running lights. A stunning panoramic sunroof is also available on the top-of-the-range Premium SE for an added touch of class.
The theme of style continues in the spacious and plush cabin. It looks and feels superior to the previous version, thanks to an uncluttered design and premium materials covering every surface. An ergonomic, driver-centric layout places all major controls within easy reach to put the driver in complete control. Higher-trim levels come with luxurious heated seats if you want something extra special. The 513-litre boot capacity is impressive compared to the model’s rivals. It expands to an even larger 1,503 litres with the flexible rear seats folded.
Diesel engines are available as a frugal 1.7-litre (with 113bhp or 141bhp), offer a combined fuel economy of up to 61.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 119g/km. There’s also a more powerful 2.0-litre version, with either 134bhp or 182bhp output. The petrol engine is best suited to urban journeys. The 113bhp 1.6-litre version is the cheapest unit option in the whole range – ideal if you’re on a budget. Basic models are available as front-wheel drive, however you can also upgrade to the four-wheel drive option on most engines to give you off-road capabilities.
Technology and safety
Every model features stability and traction control to keep you on the right track. Multiple airbags also feature as standard to ensure all areas are protected. Top-end trims benefit from the option of a blind-spot-warning system, headlights that follow the car’s steering, plus an automatic emergency braking system. The entry-level trim comes with air conditioning for comfort, and Bluetooth connectivity so you can stay in touch on the go. There’s also a new, cutting-edge satellite navigation system that is three times quicker than the previous version. This comes as standard of the high-end Premium SE model.
