The Motorline Group represents 11 Vehicle brands including Toyota, Nissan, Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot, Hyundai, Skoda, Lexus, Maserati, Audi and Dacia in over 50 Dealerships and also 4 Volkswagen group Trade parts centres across the UK employing over 1,500 employees.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Ensuring Directors and Senior management are kept informed of changes to H&S legislation
· Good knowledge of safety rules in force and ideally in depth knowledge of those applicable to Motor vehicle sales and workshops.
· Good understanding of the asbestos regulations.
· Maintain and keep current company health and safety system.
· Monitor legislation for changes and good practice.
· Carry out regular onsite H&S audits and follow up on action points
· Carry out fire safety risk assessments for each site and or update manually.
· Carry out full audit of any new or refurbished dealerships
· Provide coaching and training for managers as required
· Carry out fire warden awareness courses.
· Monitor DSE, manual handling and equipment operational training.
· Responsible for maintaining generic company risk assessments
· Carry out accident investigations as required.

Person Specification:

You’ll be resilient, have the ability to influence the leadership and management teams around our people agenda and issues. You will be able to adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and feel comfortable working under pressure to achieve deadlines and possess the following:

  • NEBOSH general certificate
  • Membership of IOSH
  • Ideally 3 years’ or more experience in a similar role
  • Experience within a similar industry would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to travel to sites, including overnight stays

Working hours: 5 days a week: 8.30am – 5.30pm with flexibility due to regular travel
