The Audi e-tron quattro concept provides motorists with a flavour of what automotive innovation can achieve. Incorporating the very latest technologies to enhance both driving experience and performance, it is designed to offer the same excitement associated with Audi’s traditionally fuelled cars while minimising the impact on our environment.
Sitting between the Q5 and Q7 in size, the Audi e-tron quattro has a fluid, aerodynamic design to provide minimal resistance. Large alloy wheels give the car a purposeful stance, while the large front grille inset with Audi’s signature four rings and flanked by slanted headlights gives a sense of aggression and power to the model. Perhaps the most striking detail is the omission of wing mirrors; these have been replaced by small cameras acting as virtual mirrors, which eliminate blind spots and expand the field of vision.
A clear dashboard presents all the information drivers will need, and the car’s functions can be accessed through voice command. The virtual wing mirrors sit inside the doors, while the overall ambience is relaxed and spacious, effortlessly combining luxury and state-of-the-art technology. A panoramic glass roof ensures the cabin is saturated with natural light and features photovoltaic cells to produce energy for the air conditioning and heated seats. Driving pleasure has never been so eco-friendly.
Far from the limited range and slothful acceleration that many still associate with electric vehicles, the Audi e-tron quattro concept can achieve a range of 310 miles and sprint from 0-62mph in only 4.6 seconds. A staggering 500ps hints at the capability of this innovative vehicle, which delivers the punch of a high-performance car but with zero emissions and exceptional efficiency.
Almost every aspect of the e-tron incorporates cutting-edge technology, from the battery technology to the photovoltaic cells, which power the air conditioning and heated seats. The battery can be charged at domestic power sources and rapid-charging terminals, achieving a full charge in just 50 minutes.
With a sloping roofline that tapers into a rear spoiler, the Audi e-tron Sportback makes an immediate impression. But it’s not just a case of looking good: with world-first Digital Matrix LED headlight technology, you’ll see better too. At the beginning and end of a trip, headlights project geometric patterns on the ground or wall. While driving, dedicated lane and orientation adjusts the beam automatically for lane changes and oncoming traffic.
The e-tron Sportback goes the distance - travelling up to 241 miles1 on a single charge.
With quattro all-wheel drive and a power output of 300kw in boost mode, the e-tron Sportback sprints from 0-62 mph in just 5.7 seconds.
