The RAV4 is a spacious and practical SUV and it is available with either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. There is also a hybrid variant which showcases Toyota’s world-leading hybrid technology. It is easy to find a RAV4 that fits your needs, as buyers have the choice of five distinct grades: Active, Business Edition, Business Edition Plus, Icon and Excel.
The RAV4 is a large SUV with bold styling that gives it an assertive road presence. The integrated lighting design and prominent badge create a smart front end and the muscular features and high ground clearance hint at the RAV4’s off-road capabilities. 17-inch alloy wheels are fitted as standard, and the Icon trim upgrades them to striking 18-inch designs. The range-topping Excel trim boasts stylish roof rails and useful parking sensors.
There is plenty of space inside the RAV4’s cabin, and it is a comfortable place to be thanks to Toyota’s trademark exceptional build quality. There is plenty of headroom and legroom in the rear seats, and the 547-litre boot space makes the RAV4 a practical family car. The entry-level Active trim features air conditioning and tinted windows as standard, and higher grades add luxuries such as leather upholstery and automatic climate control.
The RAV4 is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel unit which you can pair with a front-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive configuration. The RAV4 paces from 0-60mph in around 9.5 seconds and is relaxed at high speeds. The four-wheel drive model is highly capable off road, coping with slippery surfaces and tough terrain with ease. It is also a very economical SUV; the front-wheel drive model returns up to 60mpg and boasts CO2 emissions of just 123g/km.
Technology and Safety
Toyota has equipped the RAV4 with plenty of equipment as standard. The Active grade has the Toyota Touch 2 infotainment system fitted as standard, complete with a seven-inch touchscreen, and Business Edition adds satellite navigation. This trim has plenty of features to make each journey safer, including a reversing camera and cruise control. Higher grades also have Toyota Safety Sense, which includes a range of active safety systems.
