The hatchback iteration of the ŠKODA Fabia offers above-average practicality and benefits from a range of cheap-to-run engine options. This multi-award-winning supermini comes in S, SE, SE L and Monte Carlo trim lines.
There is nothing flashy about the Fabia. However, it is furnished with a number of attractive features, such as colour-coded fixtures that provide the vehicle with an appealingly unified appearance. These include door handles, as well as door mirrors that aren’t just for show because they are also electrically adjustable and heated.
A wide number of paint finishes are available, each of which provides the Fabia with a distinctive look. Choose from solid colours such as Pacific Blue, special hues like Candy White and Corrida Red, or metallic and pearl-effect tones such as Black Magic and Rallye Green.
The ŠKODA Fabia’s roomy and well-equipped five-person cabin provides the driver with a height-adjustable seat and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, enabling him or her to quickly establish a comfortable position. Also included as standard are electric front windows and a mechanically operated heating system – all the better for regulating the vehicle’s in-cabin climate. With all seats up, the Fabia offers a 305-litre boot volume; with rear seats folded, this capacity rises to 1,125 litres, which should be more than adequate for most purposes.
The Fabia is installed with a 1.0-litre 59bhp petrol engine as standard, which is paired with five-speed manual transmission. This delivers up to 50mpg and a 106g/km CO2 emissions figure. As good as these numbers are, a 1.4-litre 74bhp diesel alternative (available as an option for entry-level S grades), returns as much as 78.5mpg with CO2 emissions as low as 100g/km.
Technology and safety
A DAB digital radio and an AM/FM tuner are included with the ŠKODA Fabia as standard. Bluetooth, USB, SD and AUX connectivity are featured too, adding to the range of audio and speech-based content that can be enjoyed by everyone on board.
The Fabia is a safe car to travel in. In fact, it has been awarded a five-star crash-test rating by Euro NCAP. It features all the driver aids you would expect, such as Electronic Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System.
A number of passive safety elements are featured too, including a suite of airbags and front and rear seatbelt reminders. Also included are door locks that are designed to withstand the attention of any little ones who are accompanying you.
Acclaimed by a whole host of publications, such as What Car?, Auto Express and Honest John, the Fabia now needs your seal of approval. Why not deliver your verdict after taking it for a test drive at your nearest Motorline ŠKODA dealership?
