The mid-size Renault Partner provides a smooth car-like ride and offers low running costs. This flexible commercial vehicle is available in two body styles (Panel Van and Crew Van) and S, SE, SE Electric and Professional trim levels. The Partner also offers two vehicle lengths to choose from: L1 and L2.
The neatly styled Partner provides easy access to its load bay via 180o-opening doors (which are optional with Crew Van models). SE and SE electric grades (with L2 and Crew Van bodies) also feature twin sliding side doors. Standard lighting includes height-adjustable headlights and a high-mounted third brake light.
Choose from one of six paint finishes, to make the vehicle really stand out, including Bianca White, Black, Clipper Blue and Ardent Red.
The Partner provides a height, rake and reach-adjustable driver’s position (rake-and-reach-adjustable for the co-passenger). Both seats are fitted with height-adjustable head-restraints, and the driver further benefits from a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. Crew Van variants also include a flexible second row of seats.
Helping to maintain the vehicle’s in-cab temperature are electric front windows and directional heating and air recycling. (Air conditioning is standard with SE Electric and Professional grades.) Two convenient 12-volt power points are also featured (one in the cab, the other in the cargo bay).
A ladder frame protector is fitted as standard, separating the cab and the load bay. (SE Electric models and Crew Vans alternatively feature an integrated bulkhead.) Depending on the body style and trim selected, cargo space ranges from a minimum of 2,400 litres (Crew Van) to 3,700 litres. Payload varies from 636kg (SE Electric) to 860kg.
A 1.6-litre 75bhp diesel engine is installed with the Partner as standard. Mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, this returns up to 65.7mpg and a 112g/km CO2 emissions figure. Models fitted with a 1.6-litre 100bhp diesel unit return as much as 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 108g/km. An all-electric variant is available too, which produces zero emissions.
Technology and safety
Audio entertainment is provided by an FM/AM radio and an MP3-compatible CD player, both of which can be operated using steering wheel-mounted controls.
Various safety features are included, such as Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist and automatic hazard lights. The latter are activated whenever acute braking pressure is applied. Models fitted with All-Terrain Vehicle engines also feature Grip Control, which helps provide greater traction in a variety of challenging road conditions.
