With its agile and cost-effective engine options and decent payload capacity, the Peugeot Expert would be a valuable asset to a wide range of businesses. This car-like vehicle is available as a Panel Van model, which comes in S, Professional and Professional Plus trim levels. A Crew Van iteration is available too.
The vehicle is fitted with 180o-opening twin rear doors and twin sliding side-doors, each providing flexible access. The Expert is fitted with 16-inch wheels as standard, while lightweight and stylish 17-inch alloy wheels are available as an option (and are standard with Professional Plus grades). Exterior illumination includes remotely adjustable headlights, daytime running lights, rear fog lamps and a high-mounted brake light.
Choose from Bianca White or Dragoon Blue paint finishes – each offered as standard – or a number of optional colours, such as Amber Red, Rich Oak, Pearl Sand and Black.
Inside the Expert, the driver is provided with a rake-and-reach-adjustable seat (which also offers adjustable lumbar support) and a height-and-reach-adjustable steering wheel. Other standard features include front electric windows, directional heating and air recycling (via four dashboard air vents) to help maintain a pleasant in-cabin temperature. Convenient cubby spaces include dashboard storage, two gloveboxes, door pockets and under-seat stowage, as well as cup holders.
A full steel bulkhead forms a safe partition between the vehicle’s cab and its cargo bay. Load space ranges from 2,200 litres (Crew Van models) to as much as 6,600 litres.
A 1.6-litre 95bhp diesel engine is installed as standard, paired with five-speed manual gearbox. This returns up to 51.4mpg and a 144g/km CO2 emissions figure. A 1.6-litre alternative (mated to a six-speed manual gearbox) produces 115bhp and returns as much as 55.4mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 133g/km.
Technology, safety and security
Audio entertainment is provided by, among other things, a DAB radio, which is featured as standard. Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX inputs are included too, enabling music streaming and portable media device integration.
A range of driver aids include Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Control – and Hill-start Assist, which is invaluable when starting the vehicle on an incline. Professional grades also include rear parking sensors.
Helping to keep the van secure are a rolling-code engine immobiliser, central locking, deadlocks and a visible VIN identifier.
