Motability – How it works

If you are registered disabled, or caring for someone who is, the Motability scheme is tailor-made to suit your needs. Established in 1977 to ensure that living with a disability doesn’t equate to living without independence, the Motability scheme allows individuals to exchange their mobility allowance for the lease of a brand new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Even if you are unable to drive, you can nominate up to two people to do so in your place.

Motorline is proud to be partnered with this revolutionary scheme and we have fully trained Motability specialists working in every one of our dealerships. Our experts are on hand to help you find the perfect vehicle and customise it to suit your driving requirements. For instance, you may be a wheelchair user with additional access needs, in which case one of our team can affix transfer plates to the side of your vehicle for a smooth and seamless entry.

If you receive either the Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA) the Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP), the War Pensioner’s Mobility Supplement (WPMS) or the Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP), you may well be eligible to join this scheme.

Visit us online, in person or give us a call to discuss your eligibility and how the scheme can benefit you and your loved ones. We have showrooms in Ashford, Canterbury, Crawley, Dartford, Horsham, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Gillingham, Rochester, Coulsdon, Bristol, Newport, Cardiff, Reading, Oxford, Gloucester, Worcester, Hereford, Bromsgrove and Stourbridge. All dealerships have disabled parking and access.
